d&b SL-SUB
Forward-steered cardioid sub for the SL-Series — keeps low-end off the stage and away from the noise meter behind the venue.
Overview
- Type Active cardioid subwoofer (two-driver)
- Drivers 2× 21" LF (one forward, one rear-firing for cancellation)
- Max SPL 147 dB
- Frequency response 32 Hz – 90 Hz
- Fleet on hand 8 cabinets
Description
When the noise permit reads “75 dBA at the back fence” and you still need the bass to land on the dance floor, you don’t fix it with a Velcro patch on the EQ — you build a cardioid sub array. The SL-SUB is the natural match for the d&b KSL and SL-GSUB families.
Eight cabinets is enough for a four-per-side flown sub hang or a twelve-cab end-fire ground array on a festival stage. Onboard processing makes alignment quick; our system tech tunes it on site the day of the build.
If the rig is L-Acoustics, ask about our KS28 instead — same problem, different colour.
What we hire it for
- Flown cardioid sub array under a KSL or KS28 hang
- Ground-stacked sub arc for festival stages with strict back-of-stage noise limits
- Indoor arena where you cannot afford to wash low-end into the stage mix
